On Thursday 19th November, the Outward bound Trust of South Africa was proud to host their second annual fundraising dinner at Sinns Restaurant in Wembley Square Cape Town.

On Saturday 19th September the winners of the SMS ‘RESPECT’ Campaign and Women’s Empowerment Program were invited to Origins Coffee Roasting to collect their prizes. We would like to say congratulations to all of the winners and a big thank you to those who attended and supported the campaign. Also thank you to Origins Coffee Roasting who were kind enough to host the prize giving where coffees and pastries were provided.

The Outward Bound Trust of South Africa & MTN Sciencentre continued & expanded their partnership to present an event aimed at providing our youth with the opportunity to explore adventure and navigate their way through a learning experience.

We are all very very excited about our upcoming Youth Day event at the MTN ScienCentre at Canal Walk here in Cape Town! We have a host of entertainment and activities planned to celebrate the youth of South Africa and the world.

On Monday 23rd March, the JDI Tygers and the MTN ScienCentre sponsored a visit to the ScienCentre for 110 children from Tafelsig Primary School. The children were presented with a science show, with lots of exciting experiments – not to mention several (controlled) explosions! A Tik exhibition showcased the dangers of drug abuse, and Ivan Coopman from St John’s Ambulance provided an HIV-AIDS peer education presentation.

In January 2009 the Outward Bound Trust of South Africa in partnership with the Amy Biehl Foundation & JDI Tygers, launched a TIK Prevention Initiative at Tafelsig Primary School in Mitchells Plain.
