The whole idea around MAD is to join a circle of friends who share the same passion for making a difference in the lives of South African youth, to get together and interact on a regular basis, have fun and to do something meaningful and different.
MAD gives academically talented but economically disadvantaged youth an exceptional opportunity to reach their full potential as leaders and role models in South African society. In doing this MAD’s eventual aim is to create alumni of MAD beneficiaries who create a force for positive change in an emerging democracy.

Many participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation for a life changing experience. They bonded well with their instructors, who mentored them through the program, allowing them to acquire new skills and leave with a sense of accomplishment. This was a shorter program than we traditionally facilitate which restricted our ability to fully explore diversity; however the teamwork and communication displayed by the participants was exceptional. Some of the students had different expectations of the program; however they adapted very quickly and enjoyed the opportunity to participate in adventure activities. They conquered their fears and persevered through adversity to emerge empowered and resilient.
