COMMUNITY COURSES

PREVENTATIVE GBV PROGRAMME

  • These programmes will give women the opportunity to engage with one another in a combination of adventure activities, group discussions and teaching sessions. The camps inevitably produce emotional healing and positive shifts in attitudes, beliefs and behaviour. A WOW experience will change the way women see femininity, themselves and their roles in their communities. Being removed from the distractions and pressures of everyday life, immersed in the wilderness and engaged in discussions with other women about GBV and the meaning of womanhood is powerfully transformative.
  • The ripple effects of addressing GBV and promoting the restoration and healing of female GBV survivors are invaluable.
  • Possible benefits for communities include the protection of sexual and reproductive health and rights, a decrease in poverty, an increase in economic activities, a reduction in the spread of HIV and sustainable peace.
